In this test sound of different intensities and frequencies are played, usually through headphones in a sound-proof room. The result of the test is plotted on a graph called as an audiogram. This test is used to check the degree and type of hearing loss.

Tympanometry test, the condition of the middle ear and the mobility of the eardrum (Tympanic membrane). In this test, a small probe is placed in the ear canal and the air pressure in the ear canal is varied. It provides information about the middle ear functions, and the function of Eustachian tube.

Its sensors are placed on child’s head and neck to check the response of their nerves to sound played through headphones.
